I have figured out a routine (finally) that works for me and my TWA.
Here goes:
Day 1:
| 1. |
I conditioner wash hair |
| 2. |
After rinsing throughly, I add diluted conditioner to my hair.
Currently I am using about an 8 to 1 part mixture of water and
Au Lait. I leave
this in. |
| 3. |
Once I'm out of the shower I add a small (dime sized) dab
of moisturizer: Mizani. |
| 4. |
Now I add a medium (quarter sized) dollop of coconut
oil to seal in the moisture and for sheen. |
| 5. | Now I loosely tie my hair down with a scarf and get ready for work. |
| 6. | Lastly I remove the scarf and *WOW!* |
| 7. | After work, I play with my hair all night *ha* and then tie it down with a satin scarf and sleep. |
Day 2:
| 1. |
I take a shower with no scarf or shower cap on. This makes my hair 'wake up'...especially any squished parts. |
| 2. |
I get dressed and go to work. |
| 3. |
That night I sleep in a satin scarf and start all over again. |
Weekly:
| 1. |
I wash with diluted shampoo, baking soda and conditioner. It's about a tablespoon of shampoo, a tablespoon of baking soda, and 4 tablespoons of conditioner in water. This helps to get off any buildup from the conditioner and oil that used in my hair. |
| 2. |
I do a deep conditioning treatment with whatever I'm feeling
like that week. Ex. Wella,
Honey Mix,
Jojoba, Olive
Oil, Placenta. Each of these things have a slightly different affect on my hair...but for the most part they are all (with the exception of placenta) great for restoring the moisture in my hair. The placenta gives shine.
